WORK
EXPERIENCE:
Sue began
working in the Wyoming State Engineer's Office in 1988 as an Interstate Streams Engineer
dealing with interstate issues in the Bear, Yellowstone, Snake, and Belle Fourche River
basins of Wyoming. From 1995 to 2002 she
served as the Director of Policy for the agency. This
position involved work on regional and national policy issues, water planning and water
conservation topics, as well as budget and personnel issues.
In March, 2002 the interstate activities of the agency were centralized into
a separate Division, and Sue was appointed as the Administrator.
After receiving
her B.S. degree, Sue worked from 1981 to 1985 for the Farm Credit System as an
agricultural loan officer in Casper and Laramie.
BACKGROUND
Sue is
originally from a farm near Brush, Colorado and has lived in Wyoming since 1977. Sue is married to Kevin Powell, an environmental
program manager with the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
